My first time at this venue which is well situated in the heart of Hampstead village very near the tube and bus stops. The salon was welcoming and Martin was very attentive, making sure I had the treatments and style I like. In fact I just sat back while he performed his magic! I will return for my hair cut Hampstead.

How to choose a new fabulous hairstyle?  (Hair Makeover)

In Britain, there are more and more hair salons available to visit and each is marketing different hair care products, making it easy to find a place to recommend a change in hairstyle.  Still, the majority of our VIP customers find it challenging to change their hairstyle.  After all, hair is an important part of a person’s overall style whether they’re highlighting it, wearing it down or keeping it casual with a simple ponytail.  There’s no doubt about a hair style’s significance, with most customers saying their hair has a direct effect on their confidence and mood.

If you’re looking for a new hairstyle, you came to the right place as your professional stylist and Loreal Colour Expert, Martin can help.  Before your visit keep the following ideas in mind to ensure your new haircut is that hot hairstyle that will boost your conference and makes you look and feel fabulous!

1.  Face shape - Believe it a not, the shape of your face can make or break how certain hairstyles look. What does this mean? It means that some haircuts are going to look more extreme on you than others.  For example, if you have a round face, a hairstyle that gives you volume will make you look more fabulous and glamorous.  People with round faces may want to stay away from short haircuts, these may draw further attention to the shape of the face.  Customers with square faces may want to look for haircuts with layers while people with large foreheads may want to get hairstyles with fabulous bangs.

2.  Your hair type - Not all face shapes support all haircuts, it is also true that not all types of hair support all haircuts.  If you’ve got thick hair, you’re presumably not going to rock a hobgoblin cut.  The stylish thing to do when you visit hair salons is to seek advice on which haircuts are going to compliment or enhance your hairs natural strengths.  Your professional hairdresser at Hair by Martin Hampstead can help you find the right cut.

3.  Think about your lifestyle - There’s nothing wrong with maintaining an elaborate haircut if you want to put the time in.  But not everyone does and the hairstyle you choose may depend on how much time you want to put in. Consider your schedule and consider your morning schedule.  Do you have the time?

4.  Take it slow - Indeed if you want to try a hairstyle completely different from your usual haircut, it might be stylish to make small changes at first.  Let’s say you’ve got long hair and now you want to get a short style.  There’s nothing wrong with it, but you don’t have to hack it all off all at once.  You can also take the length down gradationally, it will be like getting a brand new hairstyle as you progress - enjoy the journey!  You may enjoy one of the intermediate stages perfect!

5.  Consider your likes and dislikes - If you’ve got a thing about your face that you like similar to your eyes, the right hairstyle can help accentuate your favourite features.  Likewise, if you’ve got features you’re not a fan of.  An example you are insecure about your neck shape, you can add some volume to help distract from it.

6.  Trial and error - It is important to keep these mentioned tips in mind, but you also shouldn’t be hysterical to try different hairstyles.  After all, it’s your hair so have some fun with it.  Get to know your hair — how it falls, different ways to style it, what works best with your face type and structure. The more you know about your hair, the more you can help your stylist to help you get crazy hair or that hot hair you’ve been wanting!

What makes an Exclusive Hot Hairdresser?

What is hairdressing; according to the Oxford dictionary, it is the occupation of cutting and styling hair. (https://languages.oup.com/google-dictionary-en/). Wikipedia states that a hairdresser is a person whose occupation is to cut or style hair in order to change or maintain a person's image. This is achieved using a combination of hair colouring, haircutting, and hair texturing techniques. Wikipedia

Is this correct or are we excluding the transformational effect?  Surely each of us who has visited an amazing hairdresser for “hairdressing” will know what I am referring to.

Speaking to my award-winning local Hampstead Village hairdresser, Martin Kolar, he agrees that hairdressing is much more than that…. According to him, it is an act of passion, by the hairdresser, that transform the subjects’  world.    He might do this using a variety of techniques with exotic names like Balayage but the destination is always the same.  This might sound dramatic, but is it?

When we consider our “world” is distinctly defined by our perspectives.  Where perspective is defined by Oxford languages as the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. "the normal limits to human perception” or how something is regarded, understood, or interpreted

"Perception moulds, shapes, and influences our experience of our reality,” says Linda Humphreys, PhD, a psychologist and life, relationship, and spirituality coach. “Perception is merely a lens or mindset from which we view people, events, and things.”

If these perspectives are changed by our hairdresser surely this then means the act of hairdressing is the act of transforming our worlds?

We must therefore conclude that the definition for Hairdressing should be the process through which the subjects‘ world is transformed.
